Rob Donnelly

Rob Donnelly, Managing Director, is an investor and entrepreneur with fifteen years of investment management, private equity, real estate and corporate board experience.

 

Rob’s former roles include investment banking, principal trading and executive management in venture-backed companies; industry specialization covers investment management, hedge fund, real estate, information technology, material science and healthcare.

 

Previously, he was a Principal at Genesis Park, a Houston-based private equity and real estate investment fund. Rob obtained a B.S. in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University and an M.B.A. in Finance from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.

Jin Qiao

Jin Qiao, Marketing Coordinator, leads the Texas Regional Investment Center’s marketing activities in China and provides marketing and communications support for broad range of our initiatives.

 

Additionally, she serves as a resource for both prospective and existing clients, working to create a positive experience and seamless interface with the immigration legal team.

 

Jin brings a diverse background in education, marketing, and culture to the team.

PAUL HOBBY

Paul Hobby is a native Houstonian with twenty-five years of private equity, real estate and family office experience. A successful business and political Texas family (William P. Hobby, 27th Governor of Texas, Bill Hobby, 37th Lieutenant Governor of Texas), Paul manages all facets of his family office.

 

He began his career in law at Fulbright & Jaworski, transitioned to managing his family office (including both public and private investments) and co-founded Genesis Park in 1999. A uniquely structured private equity and real estate investment fund, Genesis Park invested in a diverse range of business ventures and real assets delivering a 500% return on investment over the life of the fund.

 

Paul remains an active private investor and is deeply involved in his community serving on numerous corporate and civic Boards including the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas (Houston) and The Greater Houston Partnership.

Joel Katz

Joel Katz has over 25 years of executive financial experience from a career that began as a Certified Public Accountant with Arthur Andersen & Co. He quickly moved into the role of Chief Financial Officer for e-commerce provider Harbinger Corporation, leading the company through an initial public offering in 1995. Joel subsequently joined Vignette Corporation and helped lead the rapidly growing company through the completion of a $350M secondary public offering. He served as Audit Committee Chairman for Witness Systems from 1999 until 2007 and currently serves on the board of Revionics Inc., an end to end merchandise optimization solution provider located in Austin, Texas.

 

Joel has served as a private investor for a diverse industry portfolio of early stage companies and as a founding partner of the Dominion Golf Group, a private management investment company. For the last decade, he has also served as a general partner in Heart of Texas Suppliers, LP and End Op, LP, two companies which provide groundwater to municipalities.

STEVE GIBSON

Steve Gibson has been an active real estate and private equity investor for over twenty-five years. He established himself as a proficient real estate investor by acquiring distressed commercial and multi-family real estate properties during Texas’ Savings & Loan crisis of the late 1980’s.

 

Having developed a keen understanding of the real estate business cycle, Steve created a strong track record of successful real estate ventures; recent examples being Lionstone Group and Western General.

David Goodman

David Goodman brings over twenty years of executive management and principal investing experience to the General Partner. Prior roles include executive management at Koch Industries, and Global Head of Trading and Global Head of Commodities for Merrill Lynch where he led teams in deal origination, structured transactions, asset optimization and risk management.

 

David is a graduate of the University of Kansas and remains an active real estate and private equity investor based in Austin, Texas.

Richard B. Bennett

Richard has over twenty-five years of experience working with affluent individuals, families and their closely held entities and serves as Strategic Planning Partner of Durbin Bennett.

 

Prior to co-founding Durbin Bennett in 1987, Richard was a manager in the tax section of the Austin office of Price Waterhouse Coopers, serving as Director of Financial Planning Services.

 

Richard is a Certified Financial Planner, Certified Public Accountant, Personal Financial Specialist. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of Public Accountants, the Estate Planning Council of Central Texas and the International Board of Certified Financial Planners. Richard serves in a variety of community and professional activities and is currently serving on the boards of the Austin Ballet and the Austin Ballet Foundation.  Richard graduated with a BBA in Accounting from The University of Texas at Austin.

Lynn Yuan

Lynn Yuan (CCIM) is the founder and CEO of Real Capital Group-Austin 360 Home, a leading real estate investment firm focused on acquisition, development, and real estate portfolio management for Asian Investors. She also serves as the Managing Director of Asia-Pacific at Texas Investment Properties Group.

 

Having lived in Austin, Texas for over 23 years, Lynn has acquired a great amount professional real estate experience as well as established a strong network among both Asian investors and fund managers.

 

Lynn has extensive experience working with clients and investors across the U.S. and Internationally.  Prior to beginning her full time real estate career in early 2000, Lynn spent 15 years as a program management professional for Fortune 500 technology companies.

 

She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Greater Austin Asian Chamber of Commerce (GAACC), Director of Asian American Resource Center(AARC), Board of Directors for Chinese Society of Austin(CSA) and Vice President for Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs (APAPA).
